 Notes from President Fran Hodgson
ZOOM meetings are over.😂 On Monday night we will be back in our Rotary room at the International Club for our meeting with the Hon. James Lister MP , Member for Southern Downs, who will talking to us about his career in the Defence Force and his journey into politics.  The International Club will be catering.  It should be an interesting evening and I extend a special invitation to all our Satellite Club members.

Social Distancing protocols will have to be strictly followed before and during the meeting. It will be great to be back in company but some of our long distance members may not have the opportunity to join us again which will be a shame.  Having gained an understanding  of the capability of  virtual  meetings has thrown open the possibilities of using this online medium  during normal meetings.  WE are looking at the possibilities.

Last week’s meeting gave some members an opportunity to tell us how the wine and tourism sector is now gearing up for visitors due to the easing of travel restrictions. Bookings are coming in and  Qld tourists will again be touring the Granite Belt on the weekends.😊
Ann provided an enjoyable and informative segment with her Stanthorpe Trivia quiz which was won by Leeanne.  Many of the ‘local’ slides created a lot of discussion.

Congratulations to those members who were able to master the virtual background screens. Jim Baxter proposed a well deserved toast to Julie for all her work particularly with the Meals on Wheels roster.
Just for a laugh
Coca-Cola hired an actor to randomly start laughing on the train.
With the tagline–“Happiness starts with a smile”– their new ad aims to bring a bit of joy to everyone’s day.  Just watch, and  try to keep a straight face.
