Recipients of the Pride of Workmanship Awards were presented with their medals by Mayor Vic Pennisi at a Rotary dinner meeting held at the International Club on Monday 18th July 22.  Recipients  present were Lee McLean - Stanthorpe Vet Care, Tamara Reedy - International Club,  Julie-Ann Gleeson - Applethorpe Sate School,  Polly Ho - Eastern Colour, Dianne Simpson - Ballandean State School.  Absent recipient was Carmel Mahoney - St Vincent De Paul Society. 
The Guest speaker of the evening was Southern Downs Regional Council CEO Dave Burges.  His message of "do it once and do it well" resonated with the audience.  He acknowledged the  significance of all employees who have helped to take their place of employment / business on the journey of "good to great".  He emphasised how important the culture in a workplace is, the employer / employee relationship. Citations  for the recipients from their nominators were read by incoming Vocational Director and Past President Julia Hassall who gave the vote of thanks.  The meeting was MC'd by Past President and Rotarian of over 50 years service Peter Watters who kept everybody entertained.  The meal was delicious thanks to the International Club group of Caterers.
Rotary President Jim Barnes thanked our sponsors Bendigo Bank and Southern Downs Regional Council for once again supporting this important annual event.  Thank you to everybody who made this evening memorable.

To promote Vocational Service
To encourage Pride of Workmanship in all vocations
To provide employers with an opportunity to recognise employees who display the qualities worthy of an Award
To encourage favourable employer/employee relationships and a sense of community pride in individual achievement
To provide an opportunity for Rotary to be involved in the community, particularly the business community.
