Thank you to Vocational Chair Jim Barnes for organising a successful Annual Pride of Workmanship Event to recognise local employees for their outstanding work in their workplace.  Recipients and their Employers joined with Rotarians and Mayor Vic for a delicious dinner meal at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism 31st May.    Southern Downs Regional Council Mayor Vic Pennisi was Guests Speaker of the Evening and presented the awards with help from IPP President Fran Hodgson and A&G Rotary Club of Stanthorpe Young Ambassador Karma O'Reilly.  Thank you to MC Peter Watters for an entertaining evening.
 
Recipients were Fiona Pidgeon - QCWT; Peter McGlashan -Ridgemill Estate Winery, Marissa Robertson - Ridgemill Estate Winery (accepted by Martin Cooper), Lisa McPherson - St Joseph's School, Kristy Williams - Masquerade Hair Studio and Stephen Head - Sandro Stefanon Cabinets. Thanks to the Stanthorpe Community Bank-Bendigo Bank and the Southern Downs Regional Council for their support.
 
The Objective of the Pride of Workmanship Project
  • To promote Vocational Service
  • To encourage Pride of Workmanship in all vocations
  • To provide employers with an opportunity to recognise employees who display those qualities which are worthy of an award
  • To encourage favourable employer/employee relationships and a sense of community pride in individual achievement.
  • To provide an opportunity for Rotary to be involved in the Community, particularly the Business Community.
