On Saturday February 25 we celebrated the completion of a club project that commenced in 2019 but due to COVID was postponed to last year. The project, partly funded by a District grant, was to improve the appearance of the entry hallway of “The Boulders” Mental Health Unit at the Stanthorpe Hospital. Carpet tiles were laid and potted plants put in place but the main feature were three fabulous murals – one in reception and two in the hallway. The murals were the works of Julie Brown and Laurie Astill, assisted by Megan Astill. The artists gave generously of their time.
The Garden Party enabled the public to view the murals as these are located in an area not normally assessed by the public. With music by The Graniteers, food provided by Rotary and CWA and a fine sunny afternoon over 100 people enjoyed the party.
Councillor and Past President Stephen Tancred did a sterling job of the formalities associated with the PHF presentations.
